COLLIER
Iisha Collier is a passionate educator, author, coach, and military family advocate who brings nearly two decades of experience in education, leadership, and community impact. With a career rooted in both personal resilience and professional excellence, Iisha’s mission is to empower families, educators, and leaders to thrive—especially in the face of challenge and change.

She began her journey at the University of Akron, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, followed by a 4th and 5th grade generalist endorsement and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Literacy. Driven by her commitment to educational leadership, Iisha later earned a second Master’s degree in Educational Administration with a focus on Urban Education from Cleveland State University, along with her Principal Licensure. In 2012, she completed her K–12 Superintendent Licensure at Ashland University and earned a Diversity and Inclusion certificate from Cornell University. She is currently completing her Gifted Endorsement to better serve advanced learners.

Iisha served Akron Public Schools for 13 years in various impactful roles, including Reading Intervention Specialist, Classroom Teacher, Instructional Specialist, and Assistant Principal. For the past six years, she has served as a Curriculum Director, where she leads systemic improvement efforts, develops high-impact professional development, and manages federal grant funds to enhance student learning and staff capacity.

An accomplished writer and speaker, Iisha is the author of resources designed to support military families, blending heartfelt storytelling with actionable strategies for resilience, connection, and success. Her voice is shaped not only by her professional expertise but also by lived experience as a military spouse and parent, making her a trusted guide for families navigating deployment, reintegration, and life transitions.

Outside of her professional life, Iisha is an avid track and field fan and former track coach. She is also a talented visual artist and shares her creative work through Collier Canvases on Facebook.

Above all, Iisha is a lifelong learner. She regularly studies topics related to literacy, mathematics, educational leadership, business development, and diversity and inclusion. She believes deeply in collaboration and empowering others through leadership—especially teachers and students.

Iisha is married to Corwyn Collier Sr., a high school teacher, and together they are raising three sons—Malachi, Corwyn Jr., and Aaron. Whether in the classroom, on the track, or through her writing and coaching, Iisha Collier is a force for growth, equity, and transformation.
