
Iisha
COLLIER
Iisha Collier is a passionate educator, author, coach, and military family advocate with nearly two decades of experience in education, leadership, and community impact. Grounded in both personal resilience and professional excellence, Iisha’s mission is to empower families, educators, and leaders to thrive—especially in the face of challenge, transition, and change.

Iisha began her academic journey at the University of Akron, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, a 4th and 5th grade generalist endorsement, and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Literacy. Driven by a commitment to instructional excellence and systems-level leadership, she later earned a second Master’s degree in Educational Administration with a focus on Urban Education from Cleveland State University, along with her Principal Licensure. In 2012, she completed her K–12 Superintendent Licensure at Ashland University and earned a Diversity and Inclusion Certificate from Cornell University. Most recently, in 2025, Iisha obtained her Gifted Intervention Specialist Licensure to better serve advanced learners.

Iisha dedicated 13 years to Akron Public Schools, serving in a variety of impactful roles including Reading Intervention Specialist, Classroom Teacher, Instructional Specialist, and Assistant Principal. She is currently in her seventh year in education, where she serves as the K–6 Curriculum Supervisor, K–6 Federal Grants Coordinator, and K–6 Gifted Education Coordinator. Previously, she also served as the K–12 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair, leading initiatives focused on equity, access, and inclusive instructional practices.

Beyond K–12 education, Iisha has served as an adjunct professor at Central State University, teaching pre-service educators in the areas of Diversity and Inclusion and Educational Capstone coursework. She is also the proud co-owner of Collier Elite Coaching and Consulting, where she continues to enhance the knowledge and skills of educators and small business owners through executive coaching strategies.
An accomplished writer and speaker, Iisha is the author of resources designed to support military families, blending heartfelt storytelling with practical strategies for resilience, connection, and growth. Her work is deeply informed by lived experience as a military spouse and parent, making her a trusted voice for families navigating deployment, reintegration, and life transitions. Most recently, she published her first children’s book, expanding her impact through storytelling.

Outside of her professional work, Iisha is a former track athlete and track & field coach. She is a visual artist and shares her creative work through Collier Canvases on Facebook. Iisha is also a children's book author.

Above all, Iisha considers herself a lifelong learner. She regularly studies literacy, educational leadership, business development, and children's literature. She believes deeply in collaboration and in empowering teachers and students by positioning them as leaders.

Her guiding philosophy is inspired by Stephen Covey: “To achieve goals you’ve never achieved before, you need to start doing things you’ve never done before.”
​
Iisha is married to Corwyn Collier Sr., a high school teacher and head track and field coach, and together they are raising three sons—Malachi, Corwyn Jr., and Aaron. Whether in the classroom, on the track, or through her writing and coaching, Iisha Collier is a force for growth, inclusion, and transformation.
